Yesterday I met with our wedding planner, Leann. She is such a huge help! We went to the reception site and the church. She made the timeline gave us suggestions for the reception. If you don't have a day of planner you are really missing out! It is such a stress relief! Some of the things she pointed out I never would have even considered! Thanks Leann!!!

Went to a wonderful wedding reception in Nashville last weekend. The view was amazing! Such a great party. Loving the dessert bar! What we liked about the wedding was that is was a true reflection of the bride and groom's taste. I think that makes a wedding extra special.

Keeneland Brunch

I am a little behind on blogging about all of our wedding festivities! Some of my bridesmaids threw us the nicest brunch before Keeneland. We had a blast! It was such a pretty day and we enjoyed seeing so many friends! The next time I am at Keeneland with all of my friends, I will be married!!!!

We had our engagement pictures taken last week. I LOVE them! I woke up that day and it looked like a tornado was coming. I was nervous because I was having my hair fixed and makeup done. It was windy all day but no rain! We went to Ashland and then Gratz Park. We had so much fun! We love our photographer, Josh Merideth of Bella Grace Studio s. He is located in Louisville but traveled to Lexington for our photos. We are so excited to have him photograph the wedding! I am beyond pleased by how the photos turned out!!!

My makeup was done by Ana Crane Simpson. If you are in Kentucky and need your makeup done... I can't recommend her enough. She is a doll! She has done my makeup twice and it is beyond fabulous. It does not come off. It looks so pretty and natural. My hair guy is Brad Davis at Brittin Tate. It is in Chevy Chase and they have a nice new salon.

One of my favorite gifts from my first shower. We love fleur de lis! I received 8 of my tall glasses, 4 of the double old fashioned, 4 napkin rings and a sugar packet holder. The glasses are from The Baker's Rack in Owensboro and Tradewinds in Louisville. The rest is Arthur Court. Since we will be most likely living in Louisville some day, it is perfect!

Found this gorgeous picture on my wedding planners website. I actually know this bride from Junior League. This is the same church where will be married. I can't decide what to do for our exit but this picture makes me want to do this.....

One day we want a flower toss, the next day we want sparklers. Any suggestions? I am really leaning towards the petals but of course I can't decide!

My engagement pictures are at the end of this month. I am ghostly pale. Has anyone ever tried this or know of any great self-tanners? I don't go to the tanning bed and I really hate the spray tans. My hands were orange last time I tried it. For weeks....

I had all these elaborate plans on how I was going to ask my bridesmaids. Letter, take them to dinner, etc. My best friend was in town from Pennsylvania and we were going to a party. We stopped at a classy wine shop called "Rite-Aid." I got so excited to ask her I did right then and there in the wine aisle. We even got a picture! She was so excited. It just goes to show that your friends will be thrilled to be a part of your special day. It does not matter how you ask!

Reception Pics

Here are some pictures of where my reception will be. The first is the view from the dinning room. It overlooks the paddock, which is where the cocktail hour will be. The second is one of the many jockey paintings in the bar area. The last is the entry way to the reception. Obviously the grass will be greener by then! Getting excited!

In the midst of all the planning I had kind of forgotten about registering! It is super fun but also time consuming with all of the choices. I finally made my decision and decided to go with Herend Golden Edge. It is very simple with a golden trim. I also wanted some color and loved the Herend Queen Victoria. I decided to choose it just for the dessert plates. We found it both at Dolfingers in Louisville and LV Harkness in Lexington. I love it! The only downfall is it will most likely be boxed up for years until we have our house! More registry updates to come!

I am in love with this place. It was my number 1 pick IF I was brave enough to do an outdoor wedding. I am to chicken and August in KY is not pleasant! I am still tweaking the colors a bit. I am thinking of blue for the bridesmaids dresses, green for linens and brown for accents. I am wanting a little lighter green. More minty rather than olive.I recommend choosing your location and then your colors. If I were getting married in a ballroom I would have never chosen these colors. My location has views of horse farms and has a barn type atmosphere. I am going for earthy, rustic elegance.
